India's textile industry made a significant impact at the Bharat Tex Roadshow held in London from November 27 to 29. The event, organized by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), brought together industry leaders, retailers, and policymakers to explore new opportunities and strengthen bilateral ties.

The roadshow was attended by Shubhra, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles, and Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman of AEPC. The event highlighted India's commitment to sustainable and innovative textile production, with a focus on government initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme and PM MITRA Parks.

India's strong relationship with the UK was emphasized, with the country being the sixth-largest importer of apparel globally. India's exports to the UK have seen significant growth, particularly in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector. The upcoming edition of Bharat Tex 2025, is poised to further boost India's textile industry. Scheduled to take place in New Delhi and Greater Noida in February 2025, it will showcase the entire textile value chain, with a special emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and quality.

The roadshow concluded with productive one-on-one meetings between Indian delegates and key stakeholders in the UK. These discussions focused on potential partnerships, collaborations, and strategies to enhance India's position as a global textile powerhouse.
