Indokem aims for sustainability in textile dyes and chemicals

Indokem Ltd, a prominent Indian manufacturer of textile dyes and chemicals, is transforming and focusing on eco-friendly products to combat the environmental challenges linked to the textile industry. Indokem has replaced PVA in its sizing chemicals with the more environmentally friendly ‘Accurosize.’ The company holds GOTS 7 and ZDHC Level 3 certifications and is aiming for Oeko-Tex certification.

The company operates four plants near Mumbai and has expanded its global footprint, with 45 per cent of revenue from exports. It has offices in Bangladesh and is exploring new markets in East Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America. Looking ahead, the company plans to set up a VAT dye production unit in Gujarat and seeks to consolidate all chemical businesses into one location, positioning itself as a key global player.
