Indorama Ventures expands polyester yarn production in Italy

Indorama Ventures, a global leader in petrochemicals and polyester fibers, is increasing its high-performance polyester filament yarn production in Italy, approximately 100 km west of Milan. This move consolidates production capabilities by transferring operations from Germany and centralizing spinning, draw texturizing, and dyeing expertise at its Sandigliano and Saluzzo sites.

This strategic shift aims to create a focused asset network capable of responding to the fluctuating demands of the European textile market. European textile filament customers will benefit from a reliable supply of high-quality, customized yarns, including colored, spun, package-dyed, and functional varieties suitable for apparel, home textiles, woven labels, and automotive interiors.

Vipin Kumar, COO, Indorama Ventures’ fibers business points out European customers appreciate the company’s regional expertise and expect competitive pricing. He highlighted that consolidating their capabilities enables the company to consistently provide specialized, high-quality products and services.

While yarn twisting and air texturizing processes will remain in Bulgaria, this consolidation marks a significant step in enhancing Indorama Ventures' service and efficiency for its European clientele.
