Jeanologia unveils sustainable denim finishing at Denim PV Milan
Spanish sustainable textile technology leader Jeanologia will showcase its revolutionary ATMOS process at Denim PV Milan. ATMOS offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional stone washing, a major water polluter in denim production. ATMOS leverages air instead of water and pumice stones, achieving a 96 per cent reduction in water usage. This innovative approach not only benefits the environment but also ensures garment quality and durability. Traditional stone washing uses 80-100 liters of water per 200 kg of garments, along with detergents and chemicals. Jeanologia, through ATMOS and other technologies, reduces water usage to just one liter per garment. This eco-friendly approach eliminates the need for extensive rinsing and chemicals, promoting a cleaner and more efficient water treatment cycle. Garments finished with ATMOS achieve a green EIM score on Jeanologia's environmental impact measurement software. Jeanologia, with a capacity to process 50 million jeans, expects ATMOS to be widely adopted, driving a shift towards responsible fashion.
