Karl Mayer boosts sustainability with energy solution

Textile manufacturers can now achieve greater energy transparency and reduce costs with the new Energy Efficiency Solution from Karl Mayer Group. This cloud-based system combines sensor technology with software analysis to give factories real-time insights into their energy consumption.

Customers can access the Energy Efficiency Solution through the my.KM.ON customer portal. The system gathers data on individual machines and the entire fleet, recording power consumption for production, heating, and standby modes. This data can be viewed in real-time or analyzed historically.

The solution offers in-depth analysis of energy consumption. Users can compare data across machines or fabrics, allowing them to identify areas for improvement. Consumption values can be compared by day, month, or year, and users can choose to view data on energy use, costs, and carbon dioxide emissions.

To further reduce energy waste, the system can automatically manage machine heating. Users define daily production times and the software calculates optimal heating schedules. This eliminates the need for manual configuration and ensures machines are ready for production when needed.

Karl Mayer reports pilot projects achieving energy savings of 5-10 per cent monthly. The system also allows users to quantify carbon dioxide emission reductions, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.

The Energy Efficiency Solution launches in May 2024 for Kamcos two machines, with upgrades planned for Kamcos one machines. The company's goal is to make the solution compatible with all Karl Mayer machinery in the future.
