The Karnataka government is setting up a textile park in Guledagudda, Bagalkot district, under a public-private partnership (PPP). The initiative has already started, with 15 acres of land in Muradi village transferred to the Deputy Director of the Handloom and Textile Department, Bagalkot. The tendering process for appointing a transaction adviser is currently underway, Minister Shivanand Patil informed the Legislative Council.

Under the State’s new Textile and Garments Readymade Policy, the government will provide land, infrastructure, and subsidies of up to Rs 40 crore for textile park development. The initiative aims to boost textile production and attract private investment.

Karnataka has seven textile parks, with one under government ownership. Of the five operational private parks, one more is set to begin operations soon, according to a statement from the Minister’s office.

The proposed park in Guledagudda is expected to booar the region’s textile sector, create employment opportunities, and strengthen Karnataka’s position in the industry. The government’s push for textile parks aligns with its broader strategy to promote industrial growth and infrastructure development in the sector.
