The Madhya Pradesh government has received formal approval for the Rs 2,100 crore PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in the Dhar district. This development, which aims to capitalise on the state's cotton production, is set to transform the state's industrial landscape and bolster India's textile sector globally. The park will be strategically located in Bhainsola village, 110 km from Indore and 452 km from Hazira port.

Applications for land allocation will soon be invited, with investment proposals worth Rs 10,000 crore already in hand. The park will feature a 20 MLD Zero Liquid Discharge plant, solar-powered energy, Built-To-Suit (BTS) units, and residential complexes for workers. Construction is set to be completed by late 2026.

Madhya Pradesh, India’s fifth-largest cotton producer, expects steady cotton production of 19 lakh bales during the 2024-25 season. The park will focus on the entire textile value chain, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, and processing, aiming to boost cotton consumption within the state. While cotton output in India is set to decline, Madhya Pradesh remains a key player in the country’s cotton sector, with significant potential for yarn and fabric production.
