Madhya Pradesh to boost cotton and apparel sectors
The Madhya Pradesh government has joined hands with key textile industry players to transform the state's economy. Collaborations with the Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), Indian Cotton Federation (ICF), and Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) aim to boost cotton cultivation and apparel manufacturing.
To capitalize on Madhya Pradesh's reputation for producing high-quality Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton, the government will work with SIMA and ICF to increase its production and acreage. Demonstration farms will be established to promote advanced cultivation techniques, while the ICF will set up a Cotton Development Board to provide support.

Meanwhile, the TEA will focus on attracting investments to the state's apparel industry. By offering support in skill development, infrastructure, and cluster formation, the association aims to facilitate the growth of garment manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh. These strategic partnerships are expected to create new job opportunities, enhance farmers' incomes, and position Madhya Pradesh as a prominent player in India's textile value chain.
