Malegaon textile park manufacturers first to apply for ZED Certification

Three textile manufacturers from Malegaon Textile Park became the first in the city to apply for the MSME’s ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) Certification. This certification, launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), aims to promote quality and eco-friendly practices within MSMEs, encouraging them to adopt sustainable practices. The initiative is being spearheaded by Malegaon Industries & Manufacturers Association (MIMA) and Geete Infosis India.
The certification process began with a workshop held on January 28, 2025, attended by local industrialists and manufacturers, which was organized by MIMA, Geete Infosis, and other regional organizations. Following this, a team led by Ashwin Geete, Managing Director of Geete Infosis, conducted inspections of three companies: Dilip Industries, Gold Coin Fabrics, and Awaz Creation. All three companies, based in Malegaon’s Sayane MIDC, have been members of MIMA since 2014.
The ZED Pledge, which emphasizes zero defects, environmental responsibility, and community welfare, was administered to the three companies as part of the certification process. From February 1, 2025, a team of 12 ZED facilitators will work to bring more industries in Malegaon under the scheme.
