Matexil names Anil Rajbanshi new Vice Chairman

Anil Rajbanshi, President, Reliance Industries since 2004, has been appointed vice chairman of the Man-Made and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (Matexil). The appointment highlights Matexil’s focus on strengthening leadership within India's synthetic and technical textiles sector.
With decades of experience in the man-made fibre textile industry, Rajbanshi has also contributed significantly to national bodies such as the CII and FICCI Textile Committees, along with the government-backed Textiles Committee. Prior to joining Reliance, he was associated with the Birla Group.
Commenting on his new role, Rajbanshi said man-made fibre textiles represent the industry's future, and he is eager to support the sector’s accelerated growth. Matexil chairman Shaleen Toshniwal noted that Rajbanshi’s deep understanding and strategic insights would help improve the council’s operations and mission.
Matexil, earlier known as the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), is one of India’s oldest export bodies, established in 1954. The council supports over 3,500 exporters and promotes exports of man-made fibres, yarns, fabrics, made-ups including home textiles, and technical textiles. It plays a key role in shaping policy, market access, and trade promotion in this increasingly vital segment of the textile industry.
