Odisha approves textile waste management and cotton-spinning initiative

Odisha is set to make a significant stride towards sustainable textile manufacturing. A new greenfield spinning mill, the first in decades, will address the pressing issue of textile waste. The initiative, spearheaded by Odisha Textile Manufacturing Pvt Ltd (OTM), will not only manage post-industrial and municipal textile waste but also generate value from it.

Partnering with global leaders like Balkan Textile Machinery and Trutzschler, OTM aims to introduce cutting-edge recycling technologies. This will enable the efficient processing of textile waste, reducing reliance on landfills and incineration. Additionally, the mill will utilize advanced spinning technologies from Saurer AG to produce high-quality yarn.
