Performance Days, the premier trade fair for functional fabrics and textile sustainability, has formed an alliance with the International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO). The partnership aims to boost wool’s status as a high-performance, natural fibre and promote its sustainability in the textile industry.

IWTO, based in Brussels, represents the wool value chain and advocates for transparent, ethical practices. This collaboration will debut at the IWTO Congress in Lille, France, from May 20-22, 2025, where Performance Days will host a presentation and a dedicated tabletop booth on May 21, focusing on wool innovations in performance textiles.

Claus Habbicht, Co-founder and Head of Sales at Performance Days, emphasized wool has evolved from a niche product into a high-performance material with significant potential for sustainable innovation. Since 2015, the fair has highlighted wool’s importance in performance fabrics, showcasing materials such as Merino and traceable fibres.

The alliance extends beyond the Lille Congress, with IWTO's participation in Performance Days Munich 2025 and the Functional Fabric Fair in Shanghai 2026. This partnership aims to inspire innovation and further integrate wool into eco-conscious textile collections, showcasing its benefits in moisture management, insulation, and odour control.
