PM MITRA mega textile park in Navsari needs to be expediated, says minister

Union textile minister Giriraj Singh has called for accelerated development of the 1,141-acre PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Vansi Borsi, Navsari district, South Gujarat. During a review meeting in Surat, Singh stressed the importance of timely completion of the project, which is expected to generate numerous jobs and boost the textile industry in Gujarat and India. He directed officials to expedite land valuation, plot allocation, and the establishment of essential infrastructure, including boiler steam, effluent treatment plants, and plug-and-play facilities.
The Minister emphasized the significance of the textile industry to India's economy, particularly in Gujarat, where Surat is a global textile hub. The government aims to achieve a US$350 billion target for the textile industry by 2030, and the Vansi Borsi park is a key component of this goal.
The park will integrate various stages of the textile value chain, from spinning and weaving to processing, dyeing, printing, and garment manufacturing. By streamlining operations and fostering innovation, the park is poised to enhance the competitiveness of the Indian textile industry.
