Rajasthan’s budget unveils plans to boost textile industry.

Rajasthan's government announced a garment policy and a slew of other initiatives to revitalize its textile industry and bolster overall economic growth. The proposals were part of the first full-budget presented by finance minister Diya Kumari.

A key focus is to establish Rajasthan as a textile export hub. The garment policy and a new MSME policy aim to achieve this by supporting businesses across the production chain. Additionally, a logistics policy will streamline transportation and distribution.

Recognizing the state's potential in cotton production, the government intends to develop related industries like weaving, spinning, and denim manufacturing. To further this goal, a policy specifically for the textile sector is being formulated.

Beyond textiles, the budget prioritizes infrastructure development. Increased investment will target improvements across the state, and an easy land allocation policy will expedite renewable energy projects like solar power. This focus on infrastructure addresses concerns raised by industry leaders like Varun Agrawal. He highlighted the challenges posed by power shortages and night shift cancellations due to power cuts. The government's plan to enhance power generation is expected to mitigate these issues.

With these initiatives, Rajasthan aims to create a more favorable environment for businesses and position itself as a major textile and manufacturing player.
