Reju partners Utexa and Antex to validate circular polyester for multifilament yarns

Reju, a purpose-driven textile-to-textile regeneration company, has partnered Utexa and Antex to validate its 100 per cent recycled Reju Polyester for use in multifilament yarns. Utexa, based in Choloma, Honduras, and Antex in Girona, Spain, will begin producing test yarns using Reju’s proprietary material. These yarns will be used by Reju’s brand partners for garments and supply chain analysis by October 2025.
The collaboration supports Reju’s mission to create a circular textile ecosystem by addressing post-consumer waste where it originates. By aligning with regional manufacturing partners Reju aims to enable scalable sorting and recycling infrastructure, paving the way for extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes and near-shore production.
Reju Polyester boasts of a 50 per cent lower carbon footprint than virgin polyester and avoids the quality loss common with thermo-mechanical recycling. Its regenerated quality ensures high-grade performance for textile applications. The partnership also enhances supply chain resilience by promoting local sourcing and faster production cycles.
Patrik Frisk, CEO, Reju, emphasized the partnerships will boost the development of sustainable yarns in regions where the company’s Regeneration Hubs are based. Executives from Utexa and Antex also highlighted the collaboration as a significant move toward sustainable innovation and faster, more efficient delivery of environmentally responsible textile solutions.
