Savio boosts yarn sustainability with Proxima Smartconer at Recycling Atelier Augsburg

Italy-based Savio Macchine Tessili S p A., a leader in textile machinery, has partnered with the Recycling Atelier Augsburg since September 2024 to enhance mechanical textile recycling. The collaboration focuses on winding and yarn quality control, completing the recycling process chain and enabling advanced research.

Savio, with over 110 years of expertise, specializes in yarn finishing machinery, including winding, twisting, air-jet spinning, and bulking systems, manufactured in Italy and Asia. Their contribution includes the Proxima Smartconer winder, which ensures premium yarn quality while maintaining high productivity and low energy consumption. This step is crucial as winding is the final stage of spinning, where yarns are inspected and prepared for weaving, knitting, or finishing.

Ing Georg Stegschuster, Head of Recycling Atelier, highlighted the importance of Savio's advanced technology and expertise in boosting research efforts. Mauro Moro, CEO of Savio, expressed enthusiasm for advancing sustainable practices through this partnership.
