Shamli to emerge as textile hub with new industrial park

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the construction of a textile industrial park in Shamli district, aiming to transform it into a textile hub akin to Panipat. Located on Jhinjhana Wool Road, this park will span 26 acres and serve as the first textile-focused industrial area in the Saharanpur division. The initiative is expected to attract entrepreneurs from across the country, providing a boost to local employment.

The park will host handloom powerloom, yarn production, dyeing, and painting units. Infrastructure development is underway, with facilities like sewer lines, electrification, and a water treatment plant planned. The total project cost is estimated at Rs 7 crore, with financial assistance from the state government.

Construction is progressing rapidly, and the park is expected to be operational within a year. The process of electrification has already started, with power to be supplied from the Sikandarpur power house.

Shamli’s proximity to Panipat and Karnal, renowned textile hubs in Haryana, positions it strategically for industrial growth. This project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model is set to bolster the district's economic prospects and establish its identity in the national textile industry.
