Shinkong teams up with Ambercycle to boost recycled polyester yarn production

Taiwanese polyester giant Shinkong Synthetic Fibers has invested $10 million into Ambercycle, a US-based materials company specializing in recycling textiles. The investment will fund Ambercycle's first commercial facility, boosting production of its premium, recycled polyester yarn.

The two companies have collaborated for three years, combining Ambercycle's recycling technology with Shinkong's market expertise. This partnership aims to meet surging demand for sustainable textiles as brands seek to reduce their environmental impact. The new facility, slated to open in 2026, will significantly increase production of Ambercycle's cycora material, a recycled polyester. This move aligns with the growing global focus on decarbonization and circular economy practices within the fashion industry.
