Sourcery tracks cotton for transparency.
Sourcery, a company specializing in sourcing technology, launched a new program to improve transparency and traceability in the cotton supply chain. Their Impact and Assurance program aims to provide reliable and verified data while empowering growers and manufacturers.
This initiative comes at a crucial time for the textile industry, facing strict regulations and consumer demands for ethical and sustainable practices. Sourcery recognizes the value of data collected by growers and manufacturers and built a system that prioritizes data ownership. This ensures growers are financially rewarded for their efforts towards sustainable practices.
The program, facilitated by the Sourcery Connect app, is part of their Direct-to-Grower program. It will be rolled out globally in phases over three years. The app, based on the Bluenumber data system, provides a secure digital identity for data collected throughout the supply chain. It also allows growers and manufacturers to sell their data through a dedicated exchange.

Sourcery believes this program is a major step towards a more transparent and sustainable cotton industry. Their ultimate goal is to create a digital marketplace for cotton, independent of traditional Wall Street exchanges. The program will take three years to fully implement. Sourcery believes it will have a major positive impact on the cotton industry.
