South Gujarat Textile body to hosts seminar on MMF export growth

The Textile Association (India) - South Gujarat Unit hosted a focused seminar in Surat to explore the growing export potential of Man Made Fibre (MMF) products. As global demand for MMF-based textiles continues to rise, the event shed light on sustainable practices, innovative technologies, and supportive government frameworks that can drive India’s MMF sector forward.

The seminar featured three high-level sessions. Gurudas Aras, Independent Director and Strategic Advisor, spoke on ‘Export Opportunities in MMF Products,’ addressing the global demand dynamics and how Indian manufacturers can position themselves more competitively.

Ashish Gujarati, President of Pandesara Weavers Co-operative Society and Past President of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), highlighted government policies aimed at supporting MMF fabric exports, with a focus on Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, export incentives, and infrastructure development.

Kailash Hakim, President of the Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association, shared perspectives from the trading community, highlighting current market trends, export challenges, and opportunities in the MMF fabric sector. The event attracted industry stakeholders, exporters, weavers, and innovators, reinforcing Surat’s leadership in synthetic textiles and helping chart a roadmap for MMF-led export growth from India.
