Surat’s 4th Yarn & Jari Expo 2024 sees nationwide participation

The 4th edition of the Yarn & Jari Textile Expo in Surat brought together over 100 exhibitors and 37,000 buyers. Organized by Secure Embroidery Thread & Jari Association (SETJA) on May 19th and 20th, the event showcased a diverse range of imitation jari and yarn products, highlighting the industry's innovation and craftsmanship. Textile Minister Darshanaben Jardosh emphasized the need to position Indian jari in the international market and explore new uses for the raw material.

The expo featured innovative products like the bamboo-based Babboo yarn zari and the new multi jari category launched by K-Tex Jari. SETJA President Dipakbhai Kukadiya highlighted their vision of making Surat a global hub for jari and yarn, reducing dependence on China, and reviving Surat's jari industry.

The expo's success was supported by sponsors like Aaradhana Jari, Vplus, and Shiv Hari Processors. With a market size of Rs. 1,500 crore, Surat's jari industry is poised for further growth. The Yarn & Jari Expo served as a springboard for innovation and a reminder of Surat's potential to reclaim its historic position in the global market.
