Surat to host Yarn Expo

The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) will host the three-day Yarn Expo 2024, commencing from August 9 at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre. This year’s event will spotlight specialty yarns for silk alternatives, sportswear, and medical textiles.

Over 90 exhibitors from across India will showcase their products, attracting anticipated attendance of over 1,000 buyers. A dedicated pavilion will highlight raw material sources for the first time.

SGCCI President Vijay Mewawala emphasized the expo's aim to advance Surat's textile industry by providing insights into the latest yarn production technologies. The exhibition will feature a wide range of yarns, including specialty fibers like N silk, lyocell, carbon fiber, and antimicrobial options.

Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, will inaugurate the event on August 9th.
