TCG unveils revolutionary FDY yarn expansion at Garden Silk Mills.

The Chatterjee Group (TCG) spearheads a transformative era in the textile industry with the inauguration of the Rs 1,250 crore FDY yarn expansion project at Garden Silk Mills Private (GSMPL). Under the visionary leadership of chairman Purnendu Chatterjee, TCG embarks on a trajectory of rapid advancement in textiles, augmenting its global presence in diverse sectors with investments totalling $8 billion.

The newly commissioned FDY plant, boasting a capacity of 272 tons per day, signifies a pivotal moment for the textile sector. Equipped with cutting-edge Oerlikon Barmag Wings+ machines renowned for their superior FDY production, the facility promises to deliver top-tier yarn for knitting, weaving, and sizing applications.

Aligned with TCG's strategic vision, both GSMPL and MCPI are poised to expand their footprint across various polyester segments, leveraging MCPI's steadfast provision of high-quality PTA to fuel GSMPL's yarn business. Amidst industry challenges, significant investments have been made in the new FDY yarn facilities, with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact through hybrid renewable power solutions.
