Khammam district is gearing up for the upcoming kharif procurement season, with the district administration making preparations to handle the expected influx of paddy and cotton.

Collector Muzammil Khan has directed officials to be ready for the 2024-25 season, ensuring adequate arrangements are in place based on the mandal-wise arrival of agricultural produce. The district has cultivated 1,99,700 acres of cotton and anticipates a production of 1,79,730 metric tonnes. To facilitate cotton procurement, five Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) centers and 10 centers at ginning mills are being established. The district administration's proactive measures ensure a smooth and efficient procurement process for farmers, ensuring they receive fair prices for their agricultural produce.
