Textile industry gets a blueprint for circularity.

Non-profit Accelerating Circularity is set to unveil its Global Cotton Report at the upcoming Circularity24 conference in Chicago. This report is a culmination of extensive trials across the US and Europe, aiming to transform the textile industry from its traditional linear model to a closed-loop circular system.

Going beyond just findings, the report presents a blueprint for action. It showcases the successful creation and market launch of various cotton and cotton-blend garments made from recycled materials, highlighting the potential for achieving significant recycled content in future textiles.

Accelerating Circularity believes these trials are a major step towards reducing the textile industry's environmental impact and aligning with global sustainability goals. Their report emphasizes collaboration across the industry's value chain as key to achieving this vision.

The Circularity24 conference from May 22 to 24 will offer attendees a chance to delve into the report's findings and understand the intricacies of circular textile production. It will also be a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and empowering those dedicated to driving sustainable change within the textile industry.

This news comes on the heels of Accelerating Circularity's February announcement regarding the next phase of their Building Circular Systems initiative. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of circular textile systems, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and divert textile waste from landfills and incineration.
