Vietnam maintains anti-dumping duties on polyester yarn imports

Vietnam has upheld anti-dumping duties on polyester filament yarn imports from China, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia to protect domestic producers, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

As part of ‘Decision No. 2302/QDpoy-BCT’, the duties were first imposed following a review on November 1, 2018. The recent assessment confirms that these tariffs are necessary to safeguard local industries from unfair competition. The updated duty rates are 17 per cent for China, 54.9 per cent for India, 60.6 per cent for Indonesia, and 6.4 per cent for Malaysia. These rates were established after an investigation launched on May 12, 2023.

Per Government Decree 10/2018/ND-CP, stakeholders may request a review of these anti-dumping measures within 60 days before the first anniversary of the decision. The deadline for submitting such requests is November 1, 2024.
