Welspun Living tops ESG in textiles & luxury goods 2023.
Welspun Living (WLL), a global leader in home textiles has achieved the highest ESG rating in the Textile, Apparels & Luxury Goods category for 2023 as per S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This recognition reflects WLL's commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and transparent governance.
WLL's overall ESG score jumped to 66, an 11 per cent increase from 2022. This places them among the top three per cent of sustainable companies in their sector globally. They are also the top-ranked textile company in India on ESG metrics. Welspun Living's CEO, Dipali Goenka, highlighted their dedication to sustainability throughout the entire textile value chain. They aim to achieve carbon and water neutrality by 2030. Sanjay Gupta, CFO, emphasized their comprehensive approach which considers environmental and social impact alongside financial performance.
