The narrative of the global textile market is being fundamentally rewritten, and India long defined by its dominance in cotton is emerging as the new focal point for fibre and yarn innovation. Driven by ambitious government policies, a shift towards Man-Made Fibres (MMF), and a massive push into technical textiles, the Indian textile and apparel sector, valued at around $174 billion in FY25, is projected to touch $350 billion by FY31 (a CAGR of 12.4 per cent). This marks India's transition from a low-cost volume producer to a high-value, integrated global supply chain leader.
