TURNS and Tailorlux combine high-tech tracer fibers with advanced spectroscopy to meticulously track and verify the recycled content in every single textile product.

Surya Spinners, a manufacturer of recycled rotor yarns in India, has installed a Rieter UNIblend A 81 precision blender to meet growing demand and improve efficiency. The company, established in 2010, previously relied on a manual mixing process for its recycled cotton and polyester blend, leading to inconsistency. The new automated blender ensures precise blending within a tolerance of one per cent, guaranteeing consistent yarn quality for end products like garments. Surya Spinners expects to double production capacity with the UNIblend A 81. Additionally, the machine's compact design and fully automated operation contribute to energy savings and reduced reliance on manual labor.

Birla Cellulose, a leader in sustainable textile solutions, has partnered Pune-based fashion label Ka-sha to create Roz, a clothing line that combines eco-friendly materials with timeless design. Roz utilizes Birla Cellulose's Reviva-M yarn, made from pre-consumer cotton waste, Birla Excel fibers, and indigenous kala cotton. This innovative blend empowers Ka-sha to craft high-quality fabrics for comfortable, everyday wear.

Maharashtra's marketing minister, Abdul Sattar, announced the state will send an official delegation to Telangana to study the differences in cotton subsidies. This move comes amid demands from both ruling and opposition members for better financial support for cotton growers. Sattar expressed the government's openness to revising financial assistance and stated that the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) would begin procuring cotton during Diwali to ensure growers receive fair prices. Currently, CCI has purchased 1.2 lakh quintals, while private buyers have purchased 3.16 lakh quintals. The Tamil Nadu Spinning Mills Association (TASMA) has appealed to Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh to ensure that the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) sells cotton procured under the minimum support price (MSP) programme exclusively to user mills until the season's end. TASMA chief advisor K Venkatachalam emphasized a regulated sale of CCI’s stocks would help maintain the performance of the cotton textile value chain, particularly in export markets. The association had previously engaged with CCI, which required confirmation to lift stocks before July 15, a move that would incur extra costs for spinning mills. TASMA urged the minister to instruct CCI to hold onto the stocks and sell only to user mills until September.
