Gujarat Hy-Spin has scheduled its Board of Directors meeting to consider, evaluate and approve a proposal to raise funds by way of issuance of equity shares and/or other securities of the company. The Board of Directors would also consider convening an extra-ordinary general meeting / postal ballot process to seek approval of the shareholders in respect of the aforesaid proposal of preferential issue as required.

During its 34th Annual General Body Meeting held in Coimbatore on September 14, 2025, the South India Spinners Association (SISPA) urged the government to take steps to support the spinning sector. The association made an urgent appeal to the Union Textiles Ministry to establish Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) depots in key districts of Tamil Nadu.

The newly elected chairman of the Southern India Mills Association (SIMA), Durai Palanisamy, Executive Directive Pallava Textiles, has urged next generation of industry leaders to focus on man-made fibers (MMF). He believes, MMF is the ‘engine of growth’ for the industry, especially given the limited growth in cotton textiles. Palanisamy wants leaders to explore new global markets and create innovative products using these fibers to boost business.

Leading manufacturer of specialty synthetic yarns, AYM Syntex has grown its operations by incorporating a new, wholly owned subsidiary in the US. Known as Innovative Yarns LLC, the new entity was officially established on September 9, 2025. The primary purpose of the new subsidiary is to facilitate the trading of textile products, including various yarns, fibers, and related items. This strategic move is expected to help AYM Syntex grow its market in the North American market, strengthening its global presence.

Cotton yarn prices in South India have declined due to sluggish demand, although export orders are expected to rise in the coming months. In Tiruppur, cotton yarn prices have eased by Rs 5-8 per kg, while rates in Mumbai have remained steady. Despite the weak demand, spinning mills are resisting official rate cuts but are offering discounts to attract buyers and secure orders.

In order to revive the struggling coir industry in Kerala, the state government has decided to create a yarn bank to address the severe shortage of coir fiber. P Rajeeve, Industries and Coir Minister says, launched with a budget of Rs 5 crore, the project aims to guarantee a consistent supply of fiber to units throughout the state and protect the livelihoods of over 200,000 workers, approximately 80 per cent of whom are women.

In recent meeting led by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), prominent man-made fiber (MMF) textile associations from across the country met to discuss the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate on yarns.

In the fourth quarter of its 2025 fiscal year (Q4, FY25), Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) showed mixed financial results. The company's revenue increased by 26.5 per cent Q-o-Q compared to Q3, FY25. However, their revenue declined by 17.21 per cent Y-o-Y on a standalone basis and 25.2 per cent Y-o-Y on a consolidated basis compared to the same period in 2024.

Faced with lingering uncertainty due to US tariffs, India's knits industry is fighting back. Particularly the textile hub of Tiruppur has been feeling the heat since the US hit Indian textile exports with a 50 per cent tariff in late August 2025. This move has put India at a huge tariff disadvantage compared to its competitors, causing a sharp drop in orders and sparking fears of widespread job losses.
